Xiaofeng Wu has demonstrated an extraordinary talent and love of music from his very earliest years. In his native city of Shanghai, he won prizes in the “Jinbao” Cup young-pianist competition at the age of eight and the First State Mozart Piano Competition at 12. By the age of 15, Mr. Wu was giving powerful performance of Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto to Chinese audiences. Mr. Wu went on the Shanghai Conservatory, and upon graduation received full scholarships in piano performance from Texas Christian University and the University of Michigan, where is working on his Doctorate.In addition to his studies at Michigan, Mr. Wu has toured and performed in China, Europe and North America. His recitals and concerts include performance and solo recitals at Jack Singer Auditorium in Calgary; Alice Pratt Brown Hall in Houston; Ed Landreth Auditorium in Fort Worth, as well as at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor. He was also invited to give performances in major venues in Helsinki (Finland); Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla (Spain), Andorra; Bari, Barletta (Italy), Lisbon (Portugal); Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Nanjing (China). Among many other prizes, Xiaofeng Wu won the Gold Medal at last summer’s Guerrero Foundation International Piano Competition in Madrid.
